Kinect Rush will feature the all new “KinectScan”

Kinect Rush will be a Pixar themed Kinect Adventures like game that features five different Pixar Movies. More interestingly, as a new press release indicated, the game will feature something called “KinectScan“. This option scans your body and creates a special avatar based on your features!

The KinectScan option will scan your body and create a unique avatar based on your very own features. This is what the press release says about the KinectScan:

Immerse yourself in the beloved Disney·Pixar films of “Cars,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille,” “Toy Story,” and “Up” like never before with KinectScan. This new technology uses the Kinect sensor to scan each player’s features to create a unique avatar for each of the five Pixar worlds featured in the game.

It seems that Kinect Rush will go a little bit further than other Kinect games and will bring you an Avatar that both totally fits the environment in which you are playing, but also carries some of your personal features. I think this will be great for the immersion! What features it will take remains to be seen, but I’m sure it will work as a charm.

The person-scanning in the Kinect Fun Labs works well for the most part for me, but kind of a long process to make.
I wonder how accurate and how quickly the KinectScan feature will work. If you can literally just have anyone step up and have an avatar appear that looks like you quickly, I’ll be impressed.

Hopefully tech like this makes it’s way into other Kinect software soon…

It was awful because it was based on the xbox avatars. This game makes a new character that looks like a human, I mean, it doesn’t use the ugly xbox avatars.

This one doesn`t make xbox avatars or avatars that looks like humans, it scans you to create a pixar character with your features added, i think that can be a nice add to the game.

Kinect Fun Labs is free, plus the scanning only really looks bad for your face and even then mostly depending on the lighting condition. I think this game will make more use of the 3D scanning to scan your features and body shape then create a Pixar-style character with them, rather than trying to make it look like a photo of you.
