Summer is coming, and with that new games! One of those is Summer Stars for the Xbox 360 as announced by Deep Silver, today. It seems as though Kinect won’t be required with this game as “Summer Stars leaves it up to the players to decide how far they will be physically involved in the gameplay: the game supports traditional arcade-style controls, as well as motion control via Kinect for Xbox 360, PlayStation Move or Wii.” This will not necessarily hurt the Kinect support in this game, but could. Let’s hope it doesn’t.

Summer Stars Press Release
Ready, set, go! Deep Silver, the games label of Koch Media, a leading producer and distributor of digital entertainment products, and 49Games today announced Summer Stars – a sports game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft (compatible with Kinect™ for Xbox 360), PlayStation®3 with PlayStation®Move support, and Wii™. Available in the second quarter of 2012, Summer Stars offers a challenging and deep career mode, multiplayer modes for up to four players and a large variety of disciplines and venues, and will deliver high replay value and hours of fun for players.
With more than 18 different disciplines & challenges, Summer Stars covers a whole range of summer sports. Players can prove their talent in disciplines like Triple Jump, Mountain Biking, Diving or Sprinting and become a top athlete in the career mode. In multiplayer mode, they can compete directly with up to three friends or family members on split screen – delivering a gripping “just one more go” experience. Summer Stars also leaves it up to the players to decide how far they will be physically involved in the gameplay: the game supports traditional arcade-style controls, as well as motion control via Kinect for Xbox 360, PlayStation Move or Wii.
Summer Stars lets players experience a large variety of events, special challenges and competitions at exciting venues, including London, the scene of the Summer Olympics and well-known stadiums and arenas around the world.
After the surprisingly good Kinect game Winter Stars which was developed by the same company as those that are responsible for Summer Stars, I’m expecting a lot from Summer Stars (especially in terms of content).
